The Gallery
Yupperdoodle, it's the RKS Photo Gallery! Here are a select few of our fave - and fantastic - horses. If you would like to see a horse that isn't shown here, just drop us an e-mail and up it goes!
The bottom three are a set (oviously :). They were some of our first horses. The name "Nara" is from a fantasy book called Dark Horse. I'd imagine the Hunnuli breed looks something like a Fresian. And then for some real fantasy (does that make sense to you?) we have the unicorns. There's one other, a white one, named Suburu. Not after the car, dummy! It's Japanese for "Big Dipper". As you probably can't tell (but it's the truth, anyways), there are a heck of a lot of appaloosas at RKS! By the way, The Whether Man (me) is a Pony of the Americas, not an appaloosa.
Eight O'Clock Royal is a woodgrain, and has won RKS plenty of ribbons at live shows! Can you tell I like the Sham mold yet? My first Rana (the gray) was chewed up by my friend's dog (sniff), but luckily, she found me another one, who has gone on to place in a show! I would love to get the PAM from the Sears SR Spirit of the Wind set to go with Autumn, but I can't find her. If you have her (for a reasonable price, I might add), please send an e-mail! And please don't call Geneva Swan Gennie. It's very annoying.
Who doesn't have Misty and Stormy? No one I know. We actually have two Stormies, Storm Watch and Storm Dust. They're a tad bit hard to tell apart. Super Saddlebreds! Da-da-da-da-da-DA! We've also got a TWH, True Lies, but he isn't shown. Everybody who sees her just loves Starry-Eyes, a CH Imperator. Now here's a sight for all you sore-eyes people! A pretty Welsh Pony, a fancy Hackney... and, well, me, The Whether Man! Am I cute, or am I cute? Or maybe I'll be modest and just be adorable. I used to be called Spirograph, but I like my name better now.
Roots and Wings is named for a song of the same name. Yes, I do have a horse named Savour-Fair! "Ceasefire" refers to the temporary truce between man and mustang... key word: temporary And here he is, everybody's favorite Best of Show winner, He Means Business! Enlightenment was the very first horse at RKS. The very first. He was originally called lightning and has suffered a few (fine, more than a few) scratches and rubs, but hey, those are just signs that he's been loved. A rather handsome guy, too, isn't he?
Mistoffelees is part of the sought-after After School Herd collection. He's in pretty good condition, actually, no scratches or anything. But no, he's not for sale. Sorry. Okay, now you've seen her. The very favorite of all the horses in the entire herd and one of the first to come, My Spirit, an original Secretariat. Show with foals My Wings ('99 LE Secretariat) and My Guy (JC Penny SR) In All His Glory sports the racing tack by Breyer. I just love the Cigar mold. But how come the stirrups on the saddle are so long? I mean, it's a racing saddle! Don't they pay attention?
About names: Figment's Imagine is named for "The Journey into Imagination" ride at EPCOT. "Cafe Glace" is French for "coffee ice cream". Long Walk is for the Native American forced migration from their homeland. "Little Black Rain Cloud" is a song from "Winnie-the-Pooh and the Honey Tree". (I'm just a little black rain cloud, hovering under the honey tree...) "Sylphide" is a ballet about fairies. "Le Chat" is French for "the cat". All right, all right, the bottom ones aren't Breyers, but they're models, so who cares?
